Hi, I'm Mica

It's pronounced “Meesha”
which often confuses people. I was named after Mica Paris, my dad’s favourite singer at the time, and that's how she spells it...

I’m a lover of life and a multifaceted being who wears many hats, so to speak. I'm passionate about holistic and realistic wellbeing, and facilitate yoga, embodied movement and dance practices, moon circles, ceremonies, and wellbeing workshops - incorporating my lifelong love of music into these too. I’m also a plantbased chef and recipe developer and dabble in a variety of other creative areas.
I love learning and sharing knowledge and feel most fulfilled when I can use my skills and experiences to help others.

I bring together all of this and more via The Wellbeing Rituals, a community I founded during 2020’s first lockdown, as well as sharing my practices and eats at many other events, retreats, festivals and collaborations. My aim is to contribute to making wellness and spirituality more accessible, real and enjoyable for all, sharing all I've learned and experienced that has helped me on my own colourful wellbeing journey.

Thank you for being here, I hope you enjoy this journey with me, and I look forward to connecting with you soon!

My Story

My journey into the world of wellbeing began back in 2013 after attending Burning Man (yes I’m one of those burners that constantly talk about Burning Man. It was a truly transformative and life-changing experience that made me realise that my aspirations at the time were not my calling at all. I decided to take a breather, and while frolicking around California, I discovered a new interest in health-focused, plant-based food. Cooking has always been a part of my life. Growing up in a single-parent household with a dad that worked in music and nightlife, my older brother and I were cooking up all sorts of creative dishes from a young age. I never realised how much I enjoyed it or that I was any good at it until this time. I started a food blog to share my recipes and writing, and soon after I landed a job at a renowned yoga studio cafe in London.
I transitioned to the roles of manager and co-recipe developer, designing menus, teaching cooking lessons and serving my food to many high profile customers. Since then, I've worked with various cafes, retreats, and yoga/surf hostels across London, the UK, and internationally. My food and wellness articles have been featured in a number of online and print publications, including Vogue, Red, Stylist, Fare Healthy and The Arcadia. I also began venturing into food styling and content creation, collaborating with like-minded brands and businesses too.

In 2018-2019, I had the incredible opportunity to work in Sri Lanka during the surf season. Drawing on my experience in event hosting and organising in my party-girl days, I served as the "Head of Vibes" at a wonderfully fun yoga and surf camp. There was such an expansive range of holistic wellbeing practices being shared here by some very inspiring facilitators, and it was during this time that I deepened my knowledge and practice of mind, body, and soul techniques such as yoga philosophy, breathwork, meditation, working with moon cycles and ayurveda.
With a history of depression, anxiety, PTSD and BPD, this was a turning-point in my life where I began really tackling the management of my mental health and reconnecting with myself and my sense of self-worth and purpose underneath it all.

After returning from my second season in Sri Lanka earlier than expected due to the pandemic in 2020, I was determined to maintain all the personal growth and healthy habits I had cultivated while away. I wanted to create a support network that could help ease the isolation and stresses of lockdown while keeping each other accountable in our wellbeing practices. So I began "Yoga Buds," a daily online gathering on Zoom where we’d follow various yoga practices from Youtube and support each other through the challenges of this time. The hugely positive response to this inspired me to take things further. And so, Wellbeing Rituals was born. I combined all of my experiences and interests to create a series of wellbeing retreats and events, collaborating with a range of talented guest facilitators who would share their expertise in areas such as sound healing, candle-making, storytelling, skincare rituals, and tea ceremonies.
Travelling to Guatemala once the world opened up again, and living in an eco-sanctuary up an inactive volcano for a month, training with two of my favourite yoga teachers, I added teaching yoga to my tool-belt.

Bringing us to today, I’ve continued to learn, grow and expand my skillset, sharing yoga, movement, and dance practices, moon circles, cacao ceremonies, creative wellness workshops, and more, as well as continuing to share my plantbased cooking and recipes. I’ve had the opportunity to hold WBR retreats across the UK and Europe, to bring my practices to festivals such as Medicine, Latitude, Wilderness, Dear Black Women & Girls, Hedonè and more, as well as facilitating events and retreats around the world.

I enjoy blending the traditional and modern, in a unique approach to wellbeing, and I try not to live life with too many restrictions, I’m here to enjoy it. I love to dance, festivals are my happy place, I think sunrise sessions are sacred, I like to dress up and think clothes can be a great tool for self-expression. I still experience waves of anxiety and depression sometimes, I can be a bit of an a-hole on the odd occasion too. Doing this work and having these qualifications and experience doesn't stop any of us from being a perfectly-imperfect human being. But being committed to actively working on being the best version of myself I can be, practicing what I preach and consciously bringing more balance and joy into my life each day, with love and authenticity, well that's been a game-changer for my relationship with myself, my loved ones and the world around me.
The rituals I practice and share are a reflection of this. Realistic, manageable and enjoyable practices, centered around nature, connection, community, empowerment, and mindfulness, balancing traditional and ancient wisdoms with a modern and accessible twist. I love learning and sharing knowledge, and feel most fulfilled when I can use my skills and experiences to help others and contribute to a better world for us all. To be able to share all I've learned and continue to learn that has helped me so much on my own path and to create accessible and diverse spaces for all beings to come together and care for their mind, body, and soul, is me living my dreams and serving my purpose.

Whether it's through my retreats, workshops, ebooks, ritual boxes, recipes, social media content or blog posts, I’m here to share my own colourful life and everything I’ve learned along the way, in the hopes that I may inspire and also offer support for those of you who resonate with my story and ethos, and like me, find yourself on this path to a healthier, happier, more vibrant and full life!
